Indigo Dye Scarf-Making Workshop.

Saturday, October 5th, 2019

1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Join Visiting Artist and Founder of BUAISOU, Kakuo Kaji to learn how to make your own shibori scarf by folding and dipping it into an indigo vat! Kakuo Kaji will also give a brief explanation about how BUAISOU artisans farm, harvest, and prepare “jigokudate” indigo vats.

A $150 non-refundable workshop fee covers all supplies/materials.

BUAISOU is one of four indigo farms remaining in Tokushima, Japan. They engage in all aspects of production from indigo farming to processing and dyeing. They create and sell a line of indigo-dyed bags and workwear.

This workshop is presented in collaboration with Sonoma Cultural Exchange, special thanks to Maki Aizawa.
