Martha was most recently the Principal/Creative Director of footwear company, Martha Davis Shoes, which she founded in 2008. She has held senior executive roles in creative & business at leading technology & design firms such as Razorfish, Organic & Autodesk. She also co-founded & acted as Principal/Creative Director of Able Design, a multi-disciplinary consultancy in NYC for 10 years. Clients include fortune 500 companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, IBM, Sony, Chrysler & 3Com. Her most notable projects include the iconic Dialpak package & system for oral contraceptives produced by Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceuticals & Audrey, one of the first consumer web tablets produced by 3Com. Martha is an award-winning designer with multiple patents registered in the United States. She has been published widely & her work is included in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Design Museum, NY.
Martha joined us in Winter 2012, launching a footwear collection which reconsiders the fabrication processes involved in construction & the component parts of a shoe. She returned in Summer 2018 with plans for incorporating sailing rope into the design of sandals & bags.
