Christine the Golden visits us every Wednesday !

Artist talk with Christine Lee next Thursday, August 14th 6:00-7:00 at Workshop Residence.

Learn about Christine's art practice and the non-toxic, recycled fiber material she developed with the USDA's Forest Products Lab, and see samples from her current project...

Ann, Braden, and Katie
Christine is developing a collection of consumer products featuring her patent pending composite material, from a collation of tables and chairs, coat hangers, iPad cases, and a collection of woven bags featuring the material as handles.
Our sewing factory asked Christine to create a product that would utilize their growing scrap pile--tons of premium denim destined for the dump.  She and Workshop Alum Agelio Batle are collaborating on this mock-up of a pocketed chore coat to be sewn from panels of mismatched denim.
Workshop intern and soon to be UCLA student Noa Batle launched a Kickstarter campaign for his Domestic Soldiers.  You can read about and back his project here, or stop and in and see examples of the domestic soldiers in the workshop.
We are looking for a PR and marketing expert to help tell our story online. Please email us your resume or make a recommendation!
