Master kimono maker Tsuyo Onodera talks about her experience teaching hand-sewn kimono to hundreds of students over 50 years.
Maki Aizawa is a Sonoma based artist who grew up in Tsuyo's Kimono School surrounded by creativity, studying floral arranging, calligraphy and studying the musical instrument the Koto.
At Workshop Residence, Maki and Tsuyo host participatory yukata kimono workshops and create contemporary garments featuring Maki's calligraphy screen-printed on silk, linen and cotton.
